What Is The Best Type Of Crust To Use When Baking A Cheesecake?
I have a cheesecake mix from scratch that I want to make and it says to bake it. What is the best type of crust to use?
graham cracker crust is most traditional, very yummy. But you can pretty much use any type of dry cookie out there (chocolate, peanut butter, ginger, lemon, etc) in the recipe instead of the crackers to make it a little different. Your just basically crumbling up the cookies/crackers and adding melted butter to it and pressing it into a thin crust inside of your spring form pan. If you use the oreo cookies make sure you scrape the creme out which can then be added in chunks to the cheesecake batter. Generally crusts are on the bottom of the cheese cake only. If you want it on the sides too press some extra crust onto the sides after it's been baked.

EDIT
Have ANY of you actually ever made a BAKED CHEESECAKE from scratch??? You are all giving directions for the no-bake type cheescakes. If that is what she had it would have included directions for making the crust right on the box.

when I make cheesecake from scratch, it doesn’t have a crust … for mini / cheesecake bites, then I used crushed graham crackers or nilla wafers mixed with a little butter to hold it together
