Our kitchens, being the area where we prepare the food we eat, should be the cleanest part of our house. Unfortunately, many households forget this because they spend a lot of time in here and therefore, it is usually the least sanitary room in the house.

Here are simple and easy tips on how we can turn our kitchens to the most sanitary part of the house.

Before you start, play your favorite cd. This will heighten up your mood into cleaning the kitchen. Start with picking up any clutter and mislaid items. Wash used dishes. Using your dishwashing soap and a brush or sponge, scrub dishes. You can use warm water for this to easily remove grease.

You can start with washing glasses, mugs and next will be silverwares and followed by bowls and plates. Wash pots and pans last. Since these are usually the dirtiest ones, soak them for a couple of minutes to loosen up burnt dirt.

Do not forget to rinse and wipe your kitchen sink using your cleaning products followed by spraying them with a kitchen spray. Use a disinfectant for this step to ensure sanitary a sink. If you have a tiled kitchen top, soak them first in baking soda and water for roughly 15 minutes (again to loosen up adhered dirt and germs). Wipe them afterwards.

You may also want to remove pans from your stove to be cleaned. Usually drip pans turn black after long use. So soak them in a solution of white vinegar and baking soda or warm soapy water for half an hour. Scrub using steel wool (much preferable), or sponge. Rinse and wipe them dry.

Do not forget to dry them as they are metallic and are susceptible to rusting. Wipe your range surface every after cooking. DO this with a separate dish rag. There are available cleaners that are formulated with a lubricant to prevent grease from adhering to the surface and so that stove tops are kept dry.

Check your kitchen cabinets, cupboards, and fridge for any expired or unused items. Dispose your trash as much as possible. It will be much better to empty trash even if it is half full. You can proceed with sweeping the floor then mopping them with your favorite natural cleaning products.

Use mops that are efficient absorbents. Wipe the floor and allow to completely dry before doing your kitchen procedures. Voila! Your kitchen is ready for your next of meals to be prepared!

Remember these few tips in cleaning your kitchen:

1. Use spray disinfectant (Lysol or Fantastik)

2. Always follow the directions for use on your cleaning products' label.

3. Replace rags, sponges and steel wool regularly to avoid contamination.

4. Baking soda plus vinegar is an excellent and effective cleaner for stainless steel countertops and sinks. It effectively gets rid of grease but at the same time, does not scratch the metal. If you have problems with rusting countertops, you may want to use rust removal products which also does the same thing like vinegars and baking soda.

5. Store cleaning products away from children's reach. They are very caustic and toxic and will definitely cause problems when ingested accidentally.

6. Never ever experiment with your cleaning products. Do not mix ammonium products with bleach as this produce a poisonous gas.
